This book is an admirable effort to tell the story of a mystery which is successful in its effort. A story that engages its readers from the first words of its preface, a quote from George Bernard Shaw, "All great truths begin as blasphemies." Is this skull a human anomaly as many medical doctors have so cavalierly stated, dismissing its unique qualities as they did not conform to normal parameters? Or is it the result of alien/human interbreeding as Mr. Pye believes? The quest to find the true story behind this enigmatic skull was fraught with stunning surprises, devastating disappointments, time consuming and expensive medical tests, myriad travels, scientific input from many, many sources and was at no small financial cost and wearisome time lost for the author. This book chronicles these efforts and will certainly not be considered time lost for all who read it.
